The Waiting Room is pleased to present, where the ground welts, a solo exhibition of photography and sculpture by Sky Maggiore. The exhibition is an ongoing exploration of the fresnel lens as a signaling and survival tool through photographs, experimental photographic processes, steel and glass casting. The fresnel lens is commonly used to project light from lighthouses, traffic lights and airport runways, and to create fire in survival kits. Its pattern comes together in concentric rings, reminiscent of a target, and its magnification properties abstract what is behind it.
