STNDRD

STNDRD is a 15’ flagpole that resides outdoors and on the campus of the Granite City Art and Design District (GCADD). The flagpole is framed by surrounding grounds and its placement within a landscape environment created by landscape architect Chris Carl. Beyond the immediate features and identity of the site, artists may elect to respond to Granite City as a site that sits across the Mississippi River from downtown St. Louis and is part of the greater metro area. Granite City is a historically white and working-class steel town. This industrial legacy continues today and informs the urban landscape of Granite City.
